Lowering the U.S. Flag  

The law requires the U.S. flag to be lowered in tribute only a few times each year, including the observance of the National Fallen Firefighters Memorial Service.  

U.S.flags across the country will be lowered on Sunday, October 4, 2009 to recognize and commemorate these brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice, giving their lives while protecting their communities.   

We encourage our local community and businesses to follow this example.  You will not only recognize the brave men and women who died in service to their communities, but also recognize those that carry on the proud tradition.
